5 little monkeys...

So we where driving home from supper tonight, and we hear Riley in the back, singing some sort of song. It took me a few moments, because it wasn't a song we sing at home. They must do it at daycare a lot, because Riley knew the whole thing, along with the hand motions too.

I figured it out when she did the finger pointing at the end of each verse.

Sorry for the poor lighting and shaky camera work. This was video with the point and shoot camera.

I'm Thinking...

Can we name this child "Arby?" I had lunch there today... and Arby's has always been one of my favorite places. I could roll around in a vat of Arby's sauce and be happy for days.

If we tattoo an Arby's logo on the kid's butt and then claim it's a birthmark, do you suppose we could get curly fries and Arby's sauce for life?

BTW, I had the Buffalo Chicken tender shaker thingy. Yummy. Of course, I also had curly fries and a bunch of Arby's sauce. The medium sized fries though. I gotta watch my girlish figure.

Say it with me... "I'm thinking Arby's!"

P.S. Cooper is sounding better and better, isn't it?

I've got a few minutes...

I'm still at work, burning a DVD. I realize i've been neglectful in updates other than photos.

A little trick we picked up from Pam and Brian and Tyler seems to be paying off. While we brush teeth for the evening, we sing the ABC song. Twice, so we're sure she brushes her teeth well. She even brushes faster when you sing the song faster.

Last night we noticed she was singing more than brushing. She can do most of the ABC song. counting from 1 to 10 has been happening for a few weeks now, but she still skips 5 a lot.

the obcession with The Lion King has changed. Here's the breakdown of the shows Riley watched until we could stand it no more.
Doodlebops.
Little Einsteins.
The Lion King.
Pig. (Charlotte's Web)
Finding Nemo.
Chicken Little.

Scattered in there are pockets of watching Elmo in Grouchland over and over. And Einsteins probably plays at least 3 times a day over the weekend, just so we can clean house and get stuff done.

In other news, Riley's bedroom officially is crib free. Two weekends ago, we took her crib out and put in her dresser. While she still gets up and out of bed as soon as we finish singing and/or prayers, we quickly close the door behind us. She'll ususally cry for about 2 minutes, but then she'll climb back into bed and calm down. In fact, sometimes she'll just lay there quietly for a half hour or more. I've gone in to cover her up, thinking she's asleep, and she's merely just laying there.

Food wise, Riley continues to be a picky eater, but we're slowly getting her to eat more and more meat. Hot Dogs usually go down well. She's also usually against eating what's on her plate, but will eat it if it comes off of our plates.

we're still working on Potty training. Usually before a bath, she'll ask to go potty, but we set her on the ring on the stool and she sits there and just looks at us and laughs. It might not be too long though, before she's potty trained.

Well, my DVD is about done burning. So I'll wrap this up.
Won't be long before Duece is here.

OH! We've narrowed it down to two first names. Brennon or Cooper.
We've probably decided to wait until he's born, take a look at the kid and decide. So it's possible for a while he may be named "Baby Boy Boye." Awesome.
