An old poem I wrote

While cleaning up for Riley's Birthday party, if found a folder with a bunch of my old poetry. I hereby present my favorite poem, composed by me.

Lessons

Shadows of bones played by
sickle poets wishes.
Her body from behind eternity-
a mobile bird's bright body,
my dazzled virtues cast to a small
woman, contain my touch, flowing eyes,
white back.
But she taught me to touch eternity,
or love.

Does anybody know what it means? I don't.

My first Father's Day

I suppose I'll take a moment to explain how awesome my first Father's Day was.

I was busy cleaning up from the previous night's IFC event, but Mom and Riley gave me my presents before I had to leave for cleanup. I recieved a "World's Greatest Dad" picture frame, (thanks for the honor, but I'm sure there's someone much more deserving.)

I also recieved a "I *heart* hot moms" t-shirt. I wear it proudly.

Although, I'm a bit surprised at how I nearly teared up twice during the day. It's such an overwelming thing, having this baby. She brings such a joy to my life, when I see her smile when I open the van door... when she giggles when I tickle her... when she laughs when she tickles me by licking my toe.

I rocked Riley for a bit Sunday night, before laying her in the crib. Sang a bit... then layed her in the crib. She rolled over and was nearly asleep. I kissed her on the head and thanked her for a fantastic first Father's Day, and told her thanks for being my baby. And then I nearly cried.

Being a Dad rocks. I want a million babies.
