It's never easy (the crib)

OK, so I've been hella-busy. And I'm trying to save my creative juices for an article I need to write but...
We got the crib in on Saturday, while I was gone. Sunday I arrived home in the late afternoon and got to work, excited to finally be done with this thing.
Now this...

is our crib.

It was delivered to us in White. We finally got the Natural color. Thanks NFM! So I dive right in... Go through all the parts... It's all there. Start to assemble the thing.

We get to the part where you put in a board underneath for stability, and the wooden dowells you use to stabilize the thing... Doesn't fit. The manufacturer didn't drill the holes large enough for the dowells... Just in two spots. GREAT!

So I find my drill and drill bits... I happen to have one drill bit that's "almost" as big as the hole needs to be. I carefully drill the holes bigger, under Jodie's direct supervision... And then have to shave down the dowells to fit. A couple of hits with a hammer, and its in.

So we get the thing put together, maveling in our accomplishments... When Jodie realizes I've put the back piece on, backwards. As I've said before, whenever we do things with our hands, it's never easy. Fortunately, this time it was. I got it flipped around.

THEN, we go to add the little plastic feet to the bottom... And one of the legs is missing the hardware inside the wood to screw the foot onto. So now we have to harass PJ Kids to help us fix that, so that the dang thing is even.

It's never easy.
