GIRL POWER!

You know, having a daughter is doing screwy things to my head.

I've always been about gender equity, even though I've been known to make a sexist remark in the past. (never seriously, I just like pushing people's buttons.) But boys and girls... they're all the same except for the bits and pieces.

But since meeting a bunch of really cool lady-filmmmakers at the KC Jubilee, and having a baby girl, I'm all like "GIRLS ROCK. THEY CAN DO ANYTHING THEY SET THEIR MIND TO!" Now I'm all about making sure my baby can do anything she wants to do. If she wants to wrestle, fine... I'll teach her. Baseball? You bet. Softball? No problem. Soccer?

Now, soccer is a crappy sport, but after watching "Bend it like Beckham" and seeing all the sports bras... I think I could attend a practice or two. (ewww, i'm the creepy old dude at soccer practice, and RJ isn't even born yet!)

Girls Rock. Screw those guys that have to have a son to be a success. Girls rock.

Now I just need to teach her how to spit, and throw up the metal sign.
