2 week checkup!

RJ went in for her two week checkup. Now weighs 7 pounds, 14 ounces...(that's normal to drop.) and is an inch longer, now 20".

Docs say it's ok to use bottles and pacifier, in addition to breast feeding. That will elminate stress on Jodie feeling like a milk cow. That also means I'll be getting up more and more during the night. Yay.

The "cluster feeding" we thought was going on was really RJ trying to suck in order to soothe, which is what I thought it might be. So we feed every 2 hours or so, and pacifier when she's rooting, but doesn't need food.

So right after the checkup, Jodie runs out and buys the breast pump, only to be called 10 minutes after she opens the box by Angie T., who's no longer going to need hers.

On a side note, Roger... How long before everyone knows and I can address the issue here on the blog? Give me the thumbs up, I have things to say.

  • Go ahead. If we haven't told them yet they must not answer thier phones or check thier emails.

  • Those pacifiers are funny. Some kids you see in Wally World with them in and they are about 4yrs old. Ian and Rowen (oldest and youngest) dumpted the pacifer at about a year. Briallen still has hers at 2, but mostly to nap or sleep.....and we were looking forward at the time to a break- nope-they became cuddlers!
