how great of parents are we?

Make no doubt, the hot toy in our house will be The Little Einsteins Pat Pat Rocket. It's a big Rocket, with 4 figurines. It makes noise, it interacts with other pieces... you get it...

As soon as it hits the shelves at Target, (exclusive LE toys at Target, BTW) it is sold out.

We saw a couple of them on the Shelf on Saturday and passed on it. It's a $40 toy. We decide over the weekend that would be a great toy for one of the Grandma's to buy with Riley. But when Jodie goes to the Target Monday morning? It's gone.

A quick check of target.com's store locator will let you choose a product, and find out which stores are in stock. Only two stores in the metro still have the toy. I call one while jodie is on the road, and they're sold out, even though the website says "Limited availability."

The Shawnee store lists it as available online, and after a phone call, I determine that they do indeed have Pat Pat Rocket. I have the guy pull one from the shelf and place it at customer service. Now the challenge is that Jodie has no idea where the Shawnee Target is.

I tell her just turn right off of 435N at Shawnee Mission Pkwy. Problem is, that's on the West side of the 435 loop, and Jodie went on the East side of the loop, where there is no SM PKwy exit. Now she's weaving her way through the plaza, on her way to Shawnee, to pick up this toy for Riley. (which by the way is awesome and she'll absolutely freak out when she gets it.)

Is there anything else going on? OH, JACKSON COMES TOMORROW!

  • And you're sending your wife on a wild goose chase to find a toy? Bad, bad Brian. Good for Riley, risky for Jodie and Jackson. Bad, bad Brian!
